1) Technical Tours to Research Centers in the city of Rio de Janeiro:

-  Visit to CEPEL, the research center of Eletrobras. This research center is dedicated to research on electric power systems what concerns generation, transmission, distribution and energy efficiency.

-  Tour to COPPE, the technology research center of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. You will be able to see the institute’s well known ocean waves simulation lab.

2) A tour to a modern sugarcane mill – Usina Santa Adélia in São Paulo State in which ethanol is produced. This technical tour includes a 40 minutes flight from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo and a short bus trip from São Paulo to the sight of interest.

3) Technical tour to Itaipu, the world’s second largest hydroplant. It is located in Foz do Iguaçú, next to the border between Brazil and Paraguay and not far away from the world famous Iguaçu waterfalls. This technical tour includes a flight to Foz do Iguaçú.

4) Visit to ONS, Brazil’s electric grid operator. Brazil’s electric grid is one of the most complex in the world. You will have the opportunity to visit its facilities which are located just in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
